Sunglasses stolen on surveillance!

Tampa, Florida - Tampa Police call it some of the best surveillance video they’ve ever seen.

It’s crystal clear.

And, they’re hoping that someone in the Bay area will recognize the faces of two men caught on camera in high-end Tampa stores. louis vuitton bags

“It’s phenomenal video. Someone’s going to recognize him in the video,” says Tampa Police spokesperson Andrea Davis.

Louis Vuitton is synonymous with luxury and elegance.

The store is filled with big-ticket items that many people want but few can afford.

So, these days, police say criminals tend to just help themselves.

Call it the five-finger discount.

A young man was caught on surveillance helping himself to expensive sunglasses on Saturday, July 10th around 3:00 p.m., Tampa Police say. True Religion Shoes

A light-skinned man, possibly Hispanic with dark hair, walked into International Plaza wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, white athletic shoes and a large designer watch on his left wrist.

It was a busy Saturday.

But, there was something different about this “shopper”, police tell us.

He wasn’t making any purchases and he kept pacing around, often pausimg to check out certain items. After a while, he started talking with an associate, and then made his move.

Davis says, “That’s what’s definitely concerning. You wonder why someone is so bold to walk into a store like this when they know they’re captured on video.”

The video shows him actually picking up a pair of sunglasses costing nearly $700.

He picks up the glasses slowly, slips them into his pocket, turns his head both ways to see if anyone saw him, then walks away. ugg australia boots

A high-end store theft also happened at Westshore Plaza just down the street on June 16th.

It was a different man, but he is also caught on camera.  Still pictures show a full shot of his face.

Police say an African American man was seen using a counterfeit credit card in the name of Gregory Baxter of Deputy, Indiana.

The man charged more than $6,000 worth of jewelry and clothing, according to police.The largest purchases were two Gucci watches valued at $5,440.

The man seen in the video is in his mid 20’s to late 30’s.  He has a dark complexion and appears to be slightly overweight, police say, with short hair and a mustache, possibly a goatee.

If you recognize either of the men, you could get a cash reward of up to $1,000.
